Tax Manager, Advisory 70%; Compliance 30% (Newcastle-under-Lyme, Hale or open to looking at remote working)
NSTR is currently looking for a Tax Manager on behalf of our client to join their expanding team and play a key role in shaping the future of a high performing tax department. Working closely with Senior Managers, you will support the compliance function, while also getting hands on with complex advisory and project work. This is not just a compliance role, it is an opportunity to influence, lead and grow.
Role Description
You will work with a broad range of clients, with a particular focus on personal tax, P11Ds, and supporting Senior Managers with advisory work. You will manage a substantial portfolio, supported by a team of professional staff, to deliver a high-quality and proactive service. Your portfolio will focus on tax services, building relationships and interacting with your clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise. What You Will Be Doing
- Leading and managing your own client portfolio, as well as overseeing your team’s work
- Delivering a first class, proactive service to clients
- Building long term, trusted relationships
- Playing a key role in advisory and project work
- Developing and mentoring team staff members
- Assisting with managing workflow, resources and team performance
- Identifying and driving growth opportunities within your client base
- Supporting the delivery of a full service offering across tax
Requirements
- Extensive experience within a tax department
- Proven experience managing a large and varied portfolio
- Strong knowledge of personal and corporation tax
- Confidence in advisory and project-based work
- Ability to think commercially and identify tax planning opportunities
