Opportunity for an experienced Payroll Administrator/Bookkeeper to join a firm of Chartered Accountants based in Bury on a full-time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will have full responsibility for the processing of client’s payrolls on a weekly, fortnightly and monthly basis. This is a full start to finish processing position for approximately 50 clients, with 1 – 80 employees on each payroll.
Responsibilities:
- Full start to finish payroll processing
- Autoenrollment and pension assessment for multiple providers
- Processing CIS wages and RTI submissions
- Managing complex client queries in relation to pay
- Submission of BACs payments for clients
- Maintaining accurate payroll records
- Reporting, analysis and creation of payroll journals
- Purchase Ledger – match, batch and coding invoices
- Sales Ledger maintenance
- Posting journals
- Bank reconciliations
Requirements:
- Previous experience within a similar position
- Ability to process payroll from start to finish
- Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation
- Ability to manually calculate payslips
- Bookkeeping experience – preparing accounts to trial balance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a standalone position with minimal supervisor
- Good knowledge of MS Excel
- Experience using Sage is beneficial
