Finance Transformation Director – London

Role: Finance Transformation Director

Location: London

Salary: £130,000 pa + 40% Bonus + Pension + 30 days

NSTR is currently recruiting a Finance Transformation Director to lead strategic finance initiatives for a high growth boutique advisory business which works on pre and post deal transactions, supporting private equity clients and their portfolio companies.

This role requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in finance process design, transformation, and integration across diverse business models.

• Document and evaluate existing finance processes across portfolio companies.
• Identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• End-to-end finance processes aligned with business strategy and operational needs.
• Collaborate with finance teams to embed new processes and drive adoption.
• Rapidly assess optimal finance team size and structure based on limited inputs (e.g., revenue, business model, invoicing structure, office footprint).
• Develop scalable team models for growth, M&A, or cost-out scenarios.
• Estimate finance function overheads and system operating costs.
• Provide benchmarks and ROI analysis for transformation initiatives.
• Lead or support sell-side separation planning, including TSA design and execution.
• Drive cost-out programs and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Manage finance function integrations post-acquisition or merger.

 Required Experience:

• Proven track record in finance transformation within consulting (Big 4), or PE-backed environments.
• Strong understanding of private equity operating models and value creation levers.
• Experience working with limited data to form actionable insights and recommendations.
• Demonstrated success in designing and implementing finance processes across multiple business types.
• Deep knowledge of finance systems, cost structures, and team dynamics.
