An international organisation are looking to appoint an experienced Customs & Excise Manager into their distribution centre in Cheshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a real investor in people, recognised for being one of the best companies to work for.
Responsibilities:
- To manage and control the customs and excise activities in the UK in line with the company’s policies and procedures, ensuring compliance is maintained with UK regulations and legislation
- To manage the relationship with external tax advisors with regards to tax audits and requirements from governmental authorities
- Monitor changes to tax regulations and assess any potential implications these changes may have on the organisation
- Ensure timely payment of customs debt occurring for the goods imported into the UK, reviewing tax returns, preparing claims related to import duties and excise tax
- Tax provisioning and reporting, quarterly and annual calculations, coordinating with relevant teams and ensuring accurate reporting packages are sent to headquarters
- Managing various projects as they arise and upon Manager’s request
Requirements:
- University degree and CTA qualified
- Recent and relevant experience working within customs and excise for large businesses, either from a top tier advisory practice or from within industry
- Proactive and can do attitude
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
